Tribunal Nullifies Adeleke’s  Victory, Declares Oyetola Osun Governor

Osun State Governorship election petitions Tribunal sitting in Osun has nullifies the election of Governor Ademola Adeleke of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) and declared Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the validly elected Governor of Osun State in the July 16th, 2022 Governorship election.

Tribunal declares Oyetola Governor

 

The Tribunal made the declaration as it nullifies the victory of Ademola Adeleke on Friday, January 27,2023.

Justice Tetsea Kume, while delivering a majority decision declared that INEC did not comply substantially with the Constitution and the provisions of the Electoral Act.

According to results reports from the Tribunal, Oyetola polled 314,921 votes while Ademola polled clamped down to 290,266 votes.

He directed INEC to withdraw Adeleke’s certificate of return and issue another one to Oyetola who won a majority of the lawful votes.
